Body Composition Exam
What is the InBody 270?
The InBody 270 machine is a professional body composition analyzer designed to do more than just calculate your body’s muscle and fat measurements. While InBody is used to determine the proportion of fat to fat-free body mass, the machine also provides helpful information to assess and assist your fitness progression. Using a method called Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis (BIA), InBody accurately measures a person’s body composition without involving factors such as age, gender, or ethnicity.
With the InBody 270, you’ll get an accurate assessment of changes in your fat mass, muscle mass, and body fat percentage so you can easily track your progress, proving the results are in the workout. Learn more about InBody below.
What does the InBody 270 measure?
The InBody 270 measures several aspects of your body composition including fat, protein, various minerals, and body water. The results show the percentage of body fat, lean muscle, and more to indicate where you are in your fitness journey. You’re able to track your muscle mass, fat mass, basal metabolic rate, BMI, impedance, and more with the InBody 270 body composition machine.
It works by sending multiple painless electrical impulses through the body that gather impedance readings for the trunk and limbs. The results provide specific measurements for each limb as well as the trunk so that you can compare and contrast different parts of your body and adjust your workout routine to meet your fitness goals.

3 Ways the InBody 270 Can Help You Reach Your Fitness Goals
#1 Track Your Progression
Keeping track of the changes occurring in your body over time can significantly boost your fitness results. You’ll be able to see specifically where you’re succeeding and where you need to improve based on your body composition. Monitoring your progress over time will help motivate and challenge you to keep going until you reach your goals.
#2 Focus on Problem Areas
Every person has their own set of strengths and weaknesses, which is especially true in fitness. The InBody machine can identify muscle and fat imbalances with Segmental Lean and Body Fat Analysis to help you determine how much muscle and fat needs to be gained or lost in order to reach your health and fitness goals.
#3 Develop a Customized Nutrition Plan
Nutrition is a vital aspect of health. Having the wrong diet can significantly alter your results and hinder your progress. The InBody machine calculates basal metabolic rate to factor in TDEE (Total Daily Energy Expenditure) that can be used to help you make a daily caloric intake and meal plan that aligns with your fitness goals.
What can affect my body composition results?
There are a variety of factors that can affect your body composition results including hydration, nutrition, disease, and medication. The smallest changes in your body can affect your body composition results. To get the best comparable results, it’s important to maintain the same testing conditions with each InBody exam. Clothing that fits snuggly to your body will also provide more accurate results along with maintaining proper posture.
